I could have been an actor

if I learned to play the game

from an early age like

Adam did with the snake

or was that Eve? Anyway,

I don't have the right

diction down and my face

is always grimacing

or smiling, I can’t tell

the difference or assume.

This world has crooked

and seasoned me like a deviled egg

and I would like to

fall through the cracks in the floor.
